About Matt Carmichael

Matt is a writer, photographer, speaker and lifelong journalist.

Matt has been called “an actual photographer” by Dave Barry and an “internet guru” in Rolling Stone. A former U.S. Census Bureau director said Matt’s work was important for the nation. An Emmy-winning cellist said, “Matt Carmichael is one of those people you wished lived nearby so you could invite him to every dinner party.”


As a photojournalist his work has appeared in Rolling Stone, Spin, and hundreds of other publications around the world. His work is represented by Getty Images and can be seen at rocknroll.net, Currently, Matt is an SVP at Ipsos where he leads or co-leads the largest and most impactful public trends and foresight projects. 


He is a graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill school and was awarded a certificate of achievement from the University of Houston’s Foresight program.
